As I have looked at the history of Christianity in Scotland, I can't help asking myself where it all went astray. I recall inspiring stories of amazing Scottish saints: George Wishart and John Knox were two men who were part of the reformation; the Covenanters also come to mind; Scotland used to send missionaries all over the world preaching the gospel, two such people being Mary Slessor and David Livingstone (these people are still on our currency today).
As I thought about starting a blog, I asked myself the serious question of its benefit to anyone, not the least myself. More and more people blog today especially in ministry as they feel it's the thing to do. Well, I had these same thoughts and I fought with it for a long time until very recently.
For the last number of months I have had this nagging conviction. I'll be honest and say its been rather annoying! What I'm alluding to is this desire to help equip the people here at CGC. Equip for what? For the furtherance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our city of Glasgow. Also, to combat the temptations of the world and ways of the devil.
